I know that I haven't updated my blog lately and I apologise. I have been camping at the resource library yet again with Ally and Roy because I try to stay as far away from my laptop as possible because of the infinite distractions that come with it. Work progress has been good though I occasionally abandon my work for an hour but usually two, to shoot some hoops or play soccer with the rest of the guys.
Soccer is fun especially when we can get lots of good passing going and some stunning goals make it the best possible break from the influx of millions of words and numbers in notes or textbooks. Sometimes I think to myself how wonderful it would have been to be able to play soccer (or any other sport) for a living like Wayne Rooney or David Beckham and earn millions playing a sport they love so much. No need to study, just play soccer. Alas, physical performance has never been a focus of the Singaporean culture and sadly, all we can do to make a decent living is to contribute to the 'knowledge capital' of our country.
It's sad because I believe that people have different talent distributions. While some may succeed because they have a fantastic ability to absorb digits and theories, there are many who might excel in the more artistic fields or have some athletic advantage over others. Obviously the latter two lose out growing up in a small materialistic country which that stifles such growth.
I'll prolly dabble more on that on my next post. Gotta take a shower and head back to the resource for a couple of hours and get more study in. I've got 2 exams on Thursday...UURGH.
