So sue me. I was bored.

There's no prediction in your actions, it's just a convoluted mess up there. Taking over the world is not as big a priority nor is making money as much as killing a bunch of people, for fun. Been camping in the resrouce library lately, though sometimes I feel that diseconomies of scale set in when the number of friends who study with you increases. Of course, we still get more work done as compared to staying in our own rooms and watching shows, playing games or surfing the web, so its all good.
On Saturday, Jun, Roy, Tj and I went out for dinner (eating out as usual). A very delicious one as well. We had a jellyfish starter, some crispy tofu in a thick tasty sauce, a fresh serve of fish as a well as marmite chicken. Marmite chicken sounds gross. Maybe that's because it sounds like termite chicken in marmalade sauce, but we ordered it anyway and the gambe paid off. It was absolutely yummy!
Half way thru dinner, there were fireworks right above us. Think there was some Mardi Gras thingy going on. What a coincidence that 'Mardi Gras' was actually the word of the day a couple days back. Anyway, we didnt sick there for long. Bought a quick bubble tea and went back to Trinity where I ended up spending the rest of my night watching soccer with roy and some other soccer watching regulars from the college.
Anyway, that's about it for this weekend. I could tell you more about agency costs of managerial discretion or currency swaps though. But i'm sure u'd rather not =) Gonna head back to the lib to study. I've got less than a week to study for my next paper and it is getting quite scary indeed!

Those were words I remember Ah shen (a.k.a Gary) and I used to chant when someone played friendly cards to let you 'run' while playing daidee in the bunk. Imagine, holding 13 pathetic cards on your hand and all you have is a rubbish straight. 7,8,9,10,Jack. You start to panic, worrying that you are going to have to pay everyone triple. All of a sudden, the person beside you plays the big 2 and and an even shittier 3,4,5,6,7 straight and gives u a big smile. Ahhhh....a friend in need is a friend indeed!
Anyway, today, two of my good friends in Singapore are celebrating their birthdays at Club Mofo...or was it Club Momo? Don't know, but ignorance is bliss; if not a really good excuse. Really wish I were there to celebrate the birthdays of people who treat me so well or pass on their leet skills to me. Be it KOF or magic tricks or stuff which financial managers would easily throw into the negative NPV bin. Still, I'm full of gratitude especially when friends stick by ur side at the darkest hr.
Also there are times when friends give the best advice because its unbiased. I'm not saying that they are always right but sometimes they produce an opposite point of view which is very worth considering.
Big thanks to all my friends and loved ones...^_^
Putting that aside,
- Havent checked the dictionary for the word of they day. I'll do that shortly...
- Quote of the day was one I came up with while waiting for Jun to come down for dinner.
Sometimes our success is not based on what we do but what others do for us.

I don't do this often but finally! A title with triple meanings.
1) First off, just wanna say a big, warm bon voyage to Jun's lovely family whom we have spent quite some time with over the past week. Definitely enjoyed the time we spent playing heart attack in my living room, the fanciful 7 (or maybe 8 or 9...It was huge) dinner at Warrick as well as the watching of Pride and Prejudice. Which BTW, I must say, surpassed all my expectations. I usually prefer watching movies filled with special effects, action and wicked humor and P&P was definitely not one of the above. I thought it would be a fantastic show to get a good nap but I was wrong. Anyway, I'll prob read the book when holidays start and then watch the movie again.
2)Also, yesterday I decided to start stepping on the gas, fly to greater heights. Not just in uni but in overall knowledge. So I've put myself back on a learn a-word-a-day as well as a-quote-a-day routine. Today's word was:
Ubiquitous. No it does not mean: U should B someone who Quits a lot...But it means something which seems to appear all over the place. Eg. The ubiquity of McDonald outlets is sickening. OR I am truly being driven mad as every face I turn to is the ubiquitous visage of the girl.
The quote of the day, was stupid. So I wont bother bringing that up.
3)Yet while I take a step forward, I'm tempted to take a step back and flee from my responsibility. It's bloody 6.30am and of course I've not slept-been up all night finishing off my assignment which is due in a couple hours. It looks like crap- the crap which sometimes u see on the grass and wonder 'how the hell did it get that twirly shape??It almost looks like that 50c crap which they twirl on top of ur McDonalds icecream cone'
Yeah. I am soooooo tempted to ask for an extention for one more day of touching up probably could do the trick of awarding me a pat on the back from my tutor for not handing up pure crap. Then again, I've never had to ask for an extention, why should I start now?
Crap...Its already 7. Couple more hours to go before I have to hand this up. Amazing isn't it? How time.....*ahem*.....flies ;)

What a week. This week, unlike most of my others, was actually not boring. Apart from the boring school hours, I managed to get lots of basketball games in this week. Also, went down to a cafe in the city. Kings Street Cafe I think it's called and had the most fantastic chocolate cake I've tasted in a very very long time.

DEATH BY CHOCOLATE!
Fri was alrite as well...More basketball and had friends over for dinner and drinks. Ally cooked a delicious chicken feast and the wines which followed were erm... icing on the cake.

The lonely brown bear found another brown friend. woot! I spent Saturday watching episodes of The Inside and I have been recommending it to everyone who talk to me about TV shows. At night I watched the Man U vs Tot game. Sucky, disappointing... But I guess the trip to Metro with TJ and Charisse after definitely made up for that.

Sun was hot. Perfect for going to the beach and that's exactly what we did. Well, with the end of the week begins the official all out mugging for exam schedule. Oh Bleh.

Where's Waldo?

This week went pretty quick. I finally was able to find people sharing the first 4 episodes of Lost (Season 2) on the network. I was also able to find tonnes of movies too. Watched Coach Carter the other day and I loved it. It was moving and inspirational in such a way that I have been playing basketball everyday since I watched it. I highly recommend it to anyone who feels like renting a DVD but has absolutely no clue which DVD to rent. I'm pretty sure that happens a lot. You are bored silly, have no plans, so you decide to rent a DVD to watch. Problem is, when you step into a video store, you don't know what the hell to pick and often end up renting a crappy C grade movie. I'm sure Coach Carter will be a decent flick to watch especially if you are into sports or teamwork or SLJ. SLJ by the way does not stand for simi L** j*** but...Samuel L. Jackson- Just clarifying any doubts if there were any in the first place.
Also, got bitchslapped by reality this week. Learnt three things. I think they are closely related and overlap in some areas:
1) Knowing and giving good advice, is good. But doing it when ur in the same position sometime down the road when it happens to you, is better.
2)Similarly, I was reminded about something so simple, yet so difficult to do at times. Knowing what to do is different from the process of doing it and doing it like you mean it is an even greater step.
3)A person who is worried identifies a problem. A concerned person tries to solve it.
Just some thoughts =) Time to watch more shows...

I know. It has been ages since I last put up a post. It has been ridiculously long and I really apologize for that. Been soooooo busy with work, school and a couple episodes of The Family Guy here and there (it's awesomely funny and witty) and of course a bit of Dota here and there. So yeah. =)
Exams are coming up in less than a month. It also means that I'll be back in Singapore in roughly a month. Tentatively gonna land on the 18th- the day after I finish 2 exams. I might change it to work and earn some big bucks before going back to spend it all. I mean, the pay is good and if I'm going to get 3-4 times what i can earn per hour in Singapore, WHY NOT?
It's a dilemma of course...We'll see how things go. Right. Gotta run. Ciao~

Basically, I've been working my ass off all week (not to be taken literally of course). I've been finishing up the remaining training while selling handphones/plans to business clients and normal customers at the same time. It's tiring balancing friends and work. I've been sleeping 3-4 hrs a day on ave for the past week but I still think it's worth it. The money is good- I raked up about $250 today alone and the experience of dealing with people is imperative to future working environments.
I visited Araluren Botanical Gardens on Friday and ironically yet interestingly, it summed up my week. There were many pretty flowers which painted a bright and colourful life. Like the flowers so carefree and vivid, things in my life seemed to be in full bloom. Yet just when u think everything is alright, constant rainy days come, leaving the soil waterlogged and flowers have started to wither and suddenly nothing is as rosy as forecasted to be.
To top things up, the holis are over and sch has begun again. Boo. Don't wake me up when September ends =(
