We had out inter wing soccer on Saturday. Awesome blossom weather and funky monkey goals made this day one to remember. This is one of the main events of this semester and i feel it really is one of the best. Usually when we stay in our dorms, we have neighbours and stuff (duh), but the thing is, we dont always interact with them especially if we stay on different floors. Most of the time we just see one another and give a warm "hi". Events like these are ones which really break the ice. It is the time when everyone in the wings get together, enjoys each other's company and have fun together. I guess its all this team spirit which makes me really love team sports.

Well, for all you soccer noobs, the objective of this game is to kick the ball into ur opponent's net. But the rules in this tourney is that we had to have 2 girls and 4 guys in the starting lineup. So its like a mixed competition. OK? OK! So lets move on. Trinity has a quite a number of wings; Flats, Argyll, Iona, Cook, South, Derry, Hull and, last but not least, Durrow the best wing of them all (though im contemplating moving to cook for the senior suite rooms =P).

Durrow did a pretty good job in the tourny. We qualified top of our group and advanced to semis where we faced Flats. We conceeded a goal to an early penalty because the ball came off the ground into the hands of a girl who was using them to protect her face (OHHH COME ON REF....BALL TO HAND OK??? BALL TO HAND). We fought back really hard and pulled a last min equalizer to put the game into extra time. Eventually we lost on penalty kicks =(
It was great fun though. Pete and I are looking foward for the basketball tourney so we can get our revenge!!!! RED THE COLOUR OF REVENGEEEEEEEE. right. whatever.
